How to print barcode labels for your clothing shop
Barcode labels are the fastest way to stop selling by guesswork. When every piece in your boutique carries its own barcode, a sale takes one scan, your stock count is always right, and you know exactly which size and colour is left. StockTime creates and prints these labels for you — no extra software and no special barcode knowledge needed.
Why a clothing shop needs its own barcodes
Many clothes arrive from the supplier without a barcode, or with a code that means nothing in your shop. Writing prices by hand on tags is slow, and it makes mistakes at the counter: the wrong size is sold, the wrong price is charged, and the stock in your notebook no longer matches the shelf.
With StockTime, every model gets a barcode automatically when you add it. Each colour and each size can have its own code, so a black blouse in size M is never confused with the same blouse in size L. When you sell it, the right piece leaves your stock.
Print on A4 sticker sheets or a label printer
You do not need to buy an expensive printer to start. StockTime prints labels on ordinary A4 sticker sheets with any home or office printer. If you already have a thermal label printer, you can print one label per sticker in the size your printer uses.
Each label can show your shop name, the model name, the size, the price and the barcode. Choose how many labels you need for each size — for example, five stickers for size 38 and three for size 40 — and print them all at once when a new shipment arrives.
Scan with your phone, no scanner needed
Once your pieces are labelled, selling is simple. Open StockTime on your phone or iPad, point the camera at the barcode and the piece is added straight to the customer's invoice. If you prefer, a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works too.
Because every sale is scanned, your stock updates by itself. You can see at any time which models are running low, which sizes are sold out and which colours are still on the shelf.
Step by step
1. Add a model with its photo, price, colours and sizes. 2. StockTime creates a barcode for every size and colour. 3. Open Print barcodes, choose the quantity for each size and print on A4 or your label printer. 4. Stick the labels and start scanning. That is all it takes to move your shop from paper to barcodes.
